By using Plume, you acknowledge that your information may be processed as described here so we can provide job search, application, coaching, and account services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the information you choose to provide to us directly, the data needed to run your account, and the operational data required to keep the platform working safely and reliably.

  • Account and identity information, such as your name, email address, profile image, and basic sign-in details from identity providers you choose to use.
  • Profile and career information, such as your headline, preferences, strengths, target roles, portfolio links, proof library, constraints, and other profile settings.
  • User content, such as resumes, cover letters, generated resumes, job descriptions, applications, interview prep materials, notes, feedback, and related files or text you upload or create.

  • Usage and device data, such as log data, browser or device details, session and security data, and product interaction events that help us operate, debug, and improve the service.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to operate the platform, personalize workflows, process transactions, secure accounts, communicate with you, and improve the user experience.

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate access.
  • Generate, tailor, analyze, and organize career materials and workflow outputs.
  • Show job matches, track applications, support interview preparation, and personalize recommendations.

4. AI-Assisted Features

Some Plume features process prompts, files, and structured profile information to generate or evaluate outputs such as resumes, cover letters, interview prep, and coaching responses.

You should review AI-assisted outputs before relying on them. You are responsible for confirming that final materials are accurate, appropriate, and safe to submit or share.

5. When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when needed to run the service, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business change such as a merger or asset transfer.

  • With service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, analyze, communicate, or process payments for the platform.
  • With integrations or identity services you choose to connect.
  • With legal authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, Plume, or the public.
  • With a successor or affiliate as part of a financing, acquisition, merger, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and continuity obligations.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide the service, keep your account active, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Retention periods may differ based on the type of data, the sensitivity of the information, operational needs, and applicable law. Some records may remain in backups or archival systems for a limited period after deletion.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect sensitive information and reduce the risk of unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also use strong account protections and avoid sharing information you are not comfortable storing in an online service.

8. Your Choices and Controls

You can update much of your profile information inside the product and manage certain notification settings in your account.

If you want to request access, correction, deletion, or a privacy review related to your account, sign in and contact us through the support channel made available in the product.

  • You may choose whether to add resumes, job materials, or other optional profile content.
  • You may disconnect or stop using optional connected services where available.
  • You may control browser-level cookie settings, although some platform features may not function correctly without required session technologies.

9. Children

Plume is intended for adults and for people using the service for professional and career-related purposes. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the last updated date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice inside the product or through account communications.
